I wanted to share this fundraiser for a great cause, Original Plumbing Online needs your help!!! I could not be prouder of the amazing photo zine and web community Rocco and Amos have created and manifested! The website for the magazine is where trans, queer, genderqueer, partners and more can come together, read about others going through what they are, read so much helpful information, and feel not so alone anymore. Amos and Rocco make this magazine and created the website for our community, and have put their blood sweat and tears into its production. They make NO money from Original Plumbing, it is a labour of love that barely breaks even. Anyone who has self-published can feel that pain.
They NEED a new website and they need OUR HELP to make it happen. It's our turn to give back to them as a community so that a beautiful and functional new website can be created for us. They started the Talk about it campaign and can't post anymore videos, that campaign is very close to my heart and as an LGBTQAI we know how high the suicide rate is in our community. Let's help them make this happen!!! Even if you can't afford to contribute, share the link, blog it, tweet it, facebook it, scream it, do whatever you can!!!
Here are a few words from the founders:
"At this point, you may have heard the rumors or seen links shared around for Original Plumbing’s first ever indiegogo campaign. Perhaps you’re wondering what its all about because you haven’t had time to watch the video yet. Or perhaps you’ve been wondering why you haven’t seen a new Talk About It video update in months. And there’s a tiny chance you might wonder why our website is still purple-grey toned after all these years.
As much as Rocco and I have been fighting these growing pains, there comes a point in every transsexual magazine’s online component’s life where it’s time to grow up.
To put it simply, we — the writers, fan base, editors, activists and artists involved in Original Plumbing online – have outgrown this website. It is disorganized (my bad!), not sustainable (oops!), impossible to find articles by topic (sad face!) and has major video embedding issues (wow, now that’s embarrassing). It does not do justice to the writers who have spent their energy writing for OP over the years. It is because of your interest and support that OP has grown bigger than the size of its tank!"
So head over to the Original Plumbing Indigogo Campaign Page and make some beautiful queer magic happen people!!!!
There are some awesome perks for your donations as well, but really the website, the magazine, the space it provides is the true gift. We have to help each other, that's what we do and it's the very best part of being LGBTQAI, our community is our family. It helps us wade through all the other shit the world puts in front of us, and I feel lucky to be a part of it. Please do whatever you can to help!
I was lucky enough to be featured as one of Sacramento's top 25 up-and-coming talents, super flattered. Thanks to the lovely Rachel Leibrock for reaching out to a queer artist! I'll post some photos of the print version soon. I'm gearing up for SF Zine Fest and working and working on a grant proposal whooo busy tired! I'm working on finishing a special limited print run full color 24 page mini-comic for SF Zine Fest, crazy work time. Please grab a copy if you are local or check out the article and talent online here if not! I'm not a fan of the photo but I was stressed out and forced a smile against my better judgement as I hate fake smiley photos and photos of me in general. Le sigh, I'll live.
Also don't forget dissection is up at The Lexington Club in San Francisco through Sept. 6th, I'll also post some photos of the show, I just didn't get great photos, my friends got some better ones. The pieces are selling well already!
I have been very bad at keeping up to date here with all of my activities and work because well I've been working like a crazy person, all the time, this will continue until after APE in October then I can take a little break. I think the hard work is paying off, very excited about everything that is happening! Stay tuned!

And by EVERYTHING they mean eating carbs without puking them back up, the ability to pray or meditate without laughing or acting like an asshole, perhaps understanding a culture different than your own (don't kid yourself that doesn't happen), whining in new ways in a different time zone and finding more rich attractive men to fall in love with you.
What I've learned from watching eat, pray, love...

Thing #2. Roald Dahl changed my life the first time I read James and the giant peach in 2nd grade. When everything sucks, which it often does I have to find my way back to one idea, one belief magic. Someone told me they saw some magic in me, it is one of the most incredible things anyone has ever said to me. Find your magic.
I've been super busy and doing craft shows and not feeling like blogging but I have lots to share. Here are some new happenings over in my ye olde shoppe and Monday I'm picking up some work from a gallery so I can finally share some of my newer paintings :) I've been crafting, painting and baking and I'm excited to be alone in my house for the holidays to paint and craft and bake :D and watch movies and listen to music and dance, it sounds like the best thing EVER!!!

So this is actually technically dorky but whatever for the love of all that is STAR WARS.....................
poster by drew struzan don't know him??? get on that! Basically THE best movie poster illustrator EVER! sigh LOVE illustration, illustrators are sick!
My love affair and dork affiliation with Star Wars began on my living room floor on VHS recorded commercial free from HBO with my little brother...within the first five minutes I had nearly peed myself. Until that point the only sci-fi special effects I had really seen were from movies like The Black Hole, Escape to Witch Mountain, Close Encounters of the Third Kind and The Last Starfighter. I was already sci-fi obsessed but once we saw Star Wars it was over.....I don't think we moved once, we just tensely sat there mouths hung open in awe it was literally one of the coolest moments of my life. No I'm not joking....I told you I'm a dork and I take it seriously and Star Wars started it all.
Dear George Lucas, thank you for the bright star of my childhood called Star Wars your genius and innovation shall last forever regardless of recent follies (cough episodes I, II & III). P.S. I forgive you for JarJar...almost...........
