I've been super busy and doing craft shows and not feeling like blogging but I have lots to share. Here are some new happenings over in my ye olde shoppe and Monday I'm picking up some work from a gallery so I can finally share some of my newer paintings :) I've been crafting, painting and baking and I'm excited to be alone in my house for the holidays to paint and craft and bake :D and watch movies and listen to music and dance, it sounds like the best thing EVER!!!
I kinda went crazy painting watercolor plaid mustaches on sticks like this one I kinda love them, they are so much fun and I love taking pics with my friends can't wait for New Years!!!
they work for doggies too :D that's squid you might recognize her from my custom pet portraits she is the dog of two of my very best friends and I look after her a few times a week, she is soooo cute!!!
and yes, yes I am wearing plaid fake glasses and I rule! If you want a pair go to Paola loves to shop because that's where I got them at SF Indie mart and Vanessa RULEZ!!!! And makes AMAZING headbands!!!! I will share a pic of mine soon I want like 10 more because you can tie them and my parents probably dropped me on my head like 20 times and my head is misshapen and so the elastic ones slip off my head very annoyingly but these you can tie and they are like friendship bracelets with chains braided in OK???? OMG soooo AWESOME!
Just the framed art!
yep that is a mustache glitter ornament hand painted no less!
heee heee check them out in the shop hurry and get your orders in time for the Holidays!!!!!
**FREE REGULAR DOMESTIC SHIPPING on orders over $50**
Shipping fees will be refunded on orders with a product total of $50 or more (before tax or shipping has been applied).
Now I'm getting back to work on Christmas presents to finish and a room to clean!!! I promise to be a better blogger! But actually I don't know that I will, I'll do the best I can on the blogging front :D

And here are some cute new cards and ACEO's I've been working on but they are not in my shop yet......I made them for the craft show season but do you like them??? I might make more just for etsy and some more smaller watercolor paintings and slightly larger drawing because I do love to draw animals...do you want them in the shop??? Do you want to buy them??? BYOQ strongly encourages public transportation to Golden Gate Park. With easy connections from the Ferry Building, BART, CalTrain and regional transit stops, Muni provides convenient and frequent bus and light rail service to the park from throughout the city.
This will be a new weekly (he he I hope) feature on the blog I have so much nerdiness to share I figured I would condense it weekly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So this is actually technically dorky but whatever for the love of all that is STAR WARS.....................
poster by drew struzan don't know him??? get on that! Basically THE best movie poster illustrator EVER! sigh LOVE illustration, illustrators are sick!
My love affair and dork affiliation with Star Wars began on my living room floor on VHS recorded commercial free from HBO with my little brother...within the first five minutes I had nearly peed myself. Until that point the only sci-fi special effects I had really seen were from movies like The Black Hole, Escape to Witch Mountain, Close Encounters of the Third Kind and The Last Starfighter. I was already sci-fi obsessed but once we saw Star Wars it was over.....I don't think we moved once, we just tensely sat there mouths hung open in awe it was literally one of the coolest moments of my life. No I'm not joking....I told you I'm a dork and I take it seriously and Star Wars started it all.
Dear George Lucas, thank you for the bright star of my childhood called Star Wars your genius and innovation shall last forever regardless of recent follies (cough episodes I, II & III). P.S. I forgive you for JarJar...almost...........

.::oh hello thursday::.
one day closer to Friday :D Starting today I'm adding some prints to the shop from my recent group art show at homo a go go I'm only offering prints of a couple of the pieces that have sold and are unavailable. Many originals are still available so message me if you are interested I don't know if I will be putting them in my etsy shop at all because it is part of a bigger concept I will continue to develop for future shows. So the First Print I'm offering in the shop is a print of the pirate piece 8x10 check it out in the shop!
i love this piece and i hope you do too!!!
This is series was inspired from the concept for the group show for
Homo a go go. As a culture of the margin, we are a people that has
often had to forge our own way within the constrictions of a mainstream
paradigm and marketplace. As a result we have consistently found
gorgeous, and hideous, ways to survive. And like the saying goes,
"Necessity is the mother of invention". Or as we like to think, "Your
cage is our castle". We are a subculture that often grows its own
fashion, food, gender, family, music, sex, recipes, and communication.
Artists interpret their own meanings of "Homegrown", from home to grown.
In these works I explore my own "home" what home means, the idea of queer family and community, what it is to be queer, gender queer and trans gendered today including sex, fashion and communication. I also explore the use of pronouns and their relevance or lack thereof.
Also don't forget to check out my Sale Section for a ton of awesome affordable art deals!!! Stay tuned as I add more prints another one tomorrow and more next week!!!
I also want to share some pictures of my room/studio. I say room/studio because I live in San Francisco....it's really expensive here...one day I will be able to afford a separate art studio space...that day is not today :D So I live in a 3 bedroom apartment with 2 other people and a dog who I love. My room is a converted living room and is quite large with an awesome bay window so it's perfect. We have a deck and a yard and that's pretty lucky in this city....let me tell you! I live in the mission neighborhood and when I was first looking to move to SF from Oakland I wanted to live in the mission, I loved it and I wanted to be close to Dolores park. The first time my gf (at the time) took me there and I saw gay beach and all the cute queers and the sun and the grass I was like, this is where I want to live. I love it here even though sometimes it's hard and makes me want to scream, other days it's perfect and my house is my sanctuary!
that's my desk/studio/work space it's pretty :D Yes I have a disco ball! I got that awesome desk for free from craigslist and it fits perfectly in the bay window bump-out!!!! I do want to add fabric to the front of the desk to cover my supplies organized underneath it.
some Stella Im Hultberg who i freaking love and part of my large photobooth collection..........
more art the tori piece is by Kent Meyer Jr. below it some cure tickets (hee hee) and then a little sketch/watercolor (an original) piece by Rebecca Guay of Delirium one of my all time favorite pieces and characters from The Sandman and then an awesome unicorn print by Stephanie Fizer I love love that print too! Now you are getting to see some of my favorite artists!!!!!!!!!
so I've had to be really creative with storage and space and organization and am still acquiring the right vintage (cheap) pieces to complete the room but I still love it the way it is even though it's full of stuff :D
this is my alter/meditation area with a special tribute to my dear friend I lost less than a year ago. I put special things and mementos I still have inside the box painting. It is quite perfect that the Morrissey poster is above her, she loved that poster which was a gift on my 17th Birthday (...a loooooong time ago).
my awesome deco vanity another craigslist find!
my jewelry/glasses collections and hats. I got the idea to hang my glasses that way from the awesome Elsie full of great decorating ideas and inspiration that one!
That's my little gallery with prints from Tara McPherson another all time favorite illustrator!!!!! and Jon Van Fleet the taco head girl is his I LOVE his work sooooo AMAZING and he is an old friend!!!! Two pieces by my awesome friend and supreme talent Lee Bermejo and a piece my sister drew for me when she was like 9 some of my stuff and an AWESOME pirate piece by another super talented amazing artist Dustin Weaver oh and a rad piece that I LOVE by Carlos D'Anda yeah he rules!!!!! He just finished a ton of stuff for the new Batman Arkham Asylum video game wow! I have quite a collection of prints and originals as you can see and that's not even all of it!
well hope you enjoyed my little tour!!! Happy Thursday!
