Good news!!! My Show is extended!!!

Original Plumbing Online - Help us move forward!

Hi there,

I wanted to share this fundraiser for a great cause, Original Plumbing Online needs your help!!!  I could not be prouder of the amazing photo zine and web community Rocco and Amos have created and manifested! The website for the magazine is where trans, queer, genderqueer, partners and more can come together, read about others going through what they are, read so much helpful information, and feel not so alone anymore.  Amos and Rocco make this magazine and created the website for our community, and have put their blood sweat and tears into its production.  They make NO money from Original Plumbing, it is a labour of love that barely breaks even.  Anyone who has self-published can feel that pain.  

They NEED a new website and they need OUR HELP to make it happen.  It's our turn to give back to them as a community so that a beautiful and functional new website can be created for us.  They started the Talk about it campaign and can't post anymore videos, that campaign is very close to my heart and as an LGBTQAI we know how high the suicide rate is in our community.  Let's help them make this happen!!!  Even if you can't afford to contribute, share the link, blog it, tweet it, facebook it, scream it, do whatever you can!!!

"At this point, you may have heard the rumors or seen links shared around for Original Plumbing’s first ever  indiegogo campaign. Perhaps you’re wondering what its all about because you haven’t had time to watch the video yet. Or perhaps you’ve been wondering why you haven’t seen a new Talk About It video update in months.  And there’s a tiny chance you might wonder why our website is still purple-grey toned after all these years.

As much as Rocco and I have been fighting these growing pains, there comes a point in every transsexual magazine’s online component’s life where it’s time to grow up.

To put it simply, we — the writers, fan base, editors, activists and artists involved in Original Plumbing online –  have outgrown this website. It is disorganized (my bad!), not sustainable (oops!), impossible to find articles by topic (sad face!) and has major video embedding issues (wow, now that’s embarrassing). It does not do justice to the writers who have spent their energy writing for OP over the years. It is because of your interest and support that OP has grown bigger than the size of its tank!"

Oh hello there...

Hello January 2013!

It's been a busy year and I'm knee deep in plans and making and creating for 2013 already!  I've been working on a website and it has taken me longer than I expected to get it finished up.  When it is finished it will house my portfolio and a new blog and everything else.  I haven't been posting hoping to wait to unveil it but alas it's taking to long so I'm back to blogging here in the meantime.  

I decided to try a 365 challenge this year and I've been working on that without being able to blog it so I'll be posting and catching that up as well.  I chose to draw something every day this year!  I'm using the book 712 more things to draw as a prompt for my project and it has been fun so far, I imagine some day soon it will become harder to keep up!

Here is a little round up of a few of the things I've been working on:

First I made this, and it has been doing very well which is a nice surprise for a self-published comic!

It was a lot of work and so important to me.  A few copies may be available soon in my Shop as it is almost sold out.  Sometime this year I will do a new special print run, with new work and extras.

Finally I made this:

I'm pretty much in love with everything about this comic!  This is also almost sold out, I may put a few copies in my Shop I'll announce it here if I do, there are very limited quantity of both Feathers and Heartbeats.  I will also be doing a new print run of feathers later this year with a new cover, pages and extras.

Just a few of the things I've been working on and made, I'm also working on finishing the Poor Little Dyke Girl series and will be printing Issue 1 very soon!  Many other things are in the works that I can't share about quite yet!  I've received so much support, advice, love and encouragement from the alternative press community that I am immensely grateful for!  Comics are a labour of love, a hard labour of love and sometimes I wonder why I'm doing it, and then I remember it's because I love the medium, I want to do something different with it and I have some fans (at least 10!).

It's about time!

The New Creatives - Feature Story -Sacramento News & Review

I was lucky enough to be featured as one of Sacramento's top 25 up-and-coming talents, super flattered.  Thanks to the lovely Rachel Leibrock for reaching out to a queer artist!  I'll post some photos of the print version soon.  I'm gearing up for SF Zine Fest and working and working on a grant proposal whooo busy tired!  I'm working on finishing a special limited print run full color 24 page mini-comic for SF Zine Fest, crazy work time.  Please grab a copy if you are local or check out the article and talent online here if not!  I'm not a fan of the photo but I was stressed out and forced a smile against my better judgement as I hate fake smiley photos and photos of me in general.  Le sigh, I'll live.

Also don't forget dissection is up at The Lexington Club in San Francisco through Sept. 6th, I'll also post some photos of the show, I just didn't get great photos, my friends got some better ones.  The pieces are selling well already!

I also re-stocked Poor Little Dyke Girl at Modern Times Bookstore and Needles and Pens in San Francisco and working on getting it into some shops in Sacramento, I just haven't had any time!!!

I have been very bad at keeping up to date here with all of my activities and work because well I've been working like a crazy person, all the time, this will continue until after APE in October then I can take a little break.  I think the hard work is paying off, very excited about everything that is happening!  Stay tuned!
