FFFFOUND! this is how his/hers gift guides make me feel....

seriously seeing them all over the blogs, for valentines day, the holidays.....everything sooooooooooo FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!! It makes me want to SCREAM THIS!!! I am going to make my own non gender based gift guide...........oh and here are the reasons it makes me want to scream...

1) I am GAY therefore his/hers does not apply and the implication that we can all relate to these social "norms" is beyond irritating.

2) Gender is far more complicated than "His/Hers".

3) Don't fucking tell me what girls want!!!!!!!!! Or boys for that matter do you not understand that is part of the problem??? I identify as female and I don't fucking like bows or fucking pink or fucking dresses or lace (fine if you do it's the generalization I have a problem with). The more we advocate, promote and advertise these stereotypes the more pressure we put on people to fit some ridiculous social "norm" mold that gets queers beat up, killed and often has them suicidal.

sigh ok rant over...I feel better.
