I haven't seen this yet but I want to soooo badly!!!! I've been obsessed since I saw the preview months ago, ballerina's, psychosis, swan lake, costumes and makeup insanity and lesbian scenes!!! Tchaikovsky's music is haunting, Swan Lake is literally one of my absolute favorites and as an ex-ballerina I'm a total sucker for dance movies but this looks like magic, dark magic but magic all the same.
Check out these gorgeous posters by la boca
yum, yum, yes please!
so visually stunning I can't wait!

It's been a slow blogging week for me, just super busy and distracted by dogs and getting a bit of sleep! But I had to share this AWESOME movie I just saw!!!!!!!!! When I received Drag me to Hell in my netflix, I couldn't remember why it was in my queue other than it was a horror movie and I put almost every horror movie in my queue at some point...........anyways then I see it's a SAM RAIMI Horror flick!!!! DUHZ that's why it was in my queue, Mr. Raimi's first forey back to his humor horror roots in almost 2 count em 2 decades!!!!! Oh evil dead how do I love thee..........I digress..................So Drag me to Hell stars Alison Lohman and Justin Long and is seriously soooo freaking GOOOOD!!!!!!!!!!! You have been missed Mr. Raimi, very, very missed...for serious!
Ok best things about this movie...........
1. Creepy, scary, gross old people are ALWAYS a good bet............this lady scared the be-jesus outta me.......man who knew a little old lady could be sooo freaking scary???
2. It covers the 3 most important qualities for kick ass horror......
It's freaking hilarious
It's scary and jump worthy (I jumped like 3 or 4 times)
and it's GROSS!!!!!
3. The ending isn't LAME!!! It's AWESOME!!! Seriously the last like 10 minutes of the movie is INSANE!!!! Soooooo good!!!!
4. Did I mention the old lady??? yeah that shit was fucked up!!!
Gooooo RENT it!!! Or put it in your queue...I want to own this soooo good!!! Perfect for Halloween!!! I really want to see Trick or Treat too!!!! I doubt it will live up to Drag me to Hell though but it still looks good! And it stars Anna Paquin and I <3 her! I love me some horror!!!

This will be a new weekly (he he I hope) feature on the blog I have so much nerdiness to share I figured I would condense it weekly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So this is actually technically dorky but whatever for the love of all that is STAR WARS.....................
poster by drew struzan don't know him??? get on that! Basically THE best movie poster illustrator EVER! sigh LOVE illustration, illustrators are sick!
My love affair and dork affiliation with Star Wars began on my living room floor on VHS recorded commercial free from HBO with my little brother...within the first five minutes I had nearly peed myself. Until that point the only sci-fi special effects I had really seen were from movies like The Black Hole, Escape to Witch Mountain, Close Encounters of the Third Kind and The Last Starfighter. I was already sci-fi obsessed but once we saw Star Wars it was over.....I don't think we moved once, we just tensely sat there mouths hung open in awe it was literally one of the coolest moments of my life. No I'm not joking....I told you I'm a dork and I take it seriously and Star Wars started it all.
Dear George Lucas, thank you for the bright star of my childhood called Star Wars your genius and innovation shall last forever regardless of recent follies (cough episodes I, II & III). P.S. I forgive you for JarJar...almost...........
xoxo

YAY heee hee hope this helps give you some ideas too!!!
10. Margo from The Royall Tennenbaums this is 10 because it has kind of been done but I still LOVE her character and the movie and it would be a super simple thrift shop job!
9. Suki from True Blood this would also be a pretty easy DIY costume!
8. Coraline also another super easy DIY costume and one of my favorite movies now ever!!!
all you need is a classic yellow raincoat, yellow rain boots jeans and a blue wig with a dragonfly clip! The yellow rain coat is super easy to find just google it here is one I found on Amazon that is perfect find it here
and the perfect electric blue wig also found on amazon
and the perfect yellow rain boots
or these
oooooorrrrr these
add a dragonfly barrette like this one from Starry Luna on etsy.com

or these vintage ones from small and mousey on etsy.com
and I LOOOOOOOVE this button key necklace from refreshing designs jewelry on etsy.com
7. Next up is Max from Where the Wild things are and this isn't higher on the list because I can't sew and I am poor but there are some AMAZING costumes out there!!!!
Like this one fromstar visions on etsy.com
or this one from the radical thread co. on etsy.com made of eco friendly fabrics!
this one is cool because its a hoodie and a bit cheaper from Poppy's Wicked Garden on etsy.com
this one is really cool any excuse to wear pajamas all the time from the LB gallery on etsy.com
6. Bret Michaels what can I say it would be super fun to dress up as Bret and super easy!! Just need a bandanna and an awesome 80's Rocker wig and a LOT of eyeliner and lipstick!!
5. Silk Spectre from The Watchmen!!!!!!! Love her, LOVE the comic, LOVE the movie again only thing is I can't sew and I'm poor :( But it would kick ass!!!!
above is the costume you buy on the right next to the movie costume it's pretty good and you can buy a nice wig these are all over but here is a link and you can just google it and tons will come up and here is one more pic of it
and here is a super freaking cool do it yourself how to video but alas I am DIY sewing challenged
4. Donnie Darko Skeleton Costume Love this movie forever and ever best dark sci-fi and soundtrack omg! This is fun and easy too with lots of options!
So basically you need the following a grey hoodie (sweeet i have one) a skeleton costume or a skeleton t-shirt and black jeans or a skeleton t-shirt and some cool skeleton tights! Here are some options I found...
this skeleton costume from Amazon
this glow in the dark skeleton t-shirt from Amazon
these awesome skeleton tights from Amazon
these super RAD skeleton pantyhose OMG!
this amazing glow in the dark skeleton t-shirt from the girls at red velvet art
and add a grey hoodie! There are tons more great skeleton related stuff out there too!!
3. Lydia from Beetlejuice!!!! Oh how I love little goth girls and Lydia is one of my all time FAVES!!!
this costume is amazing
I think I want to go the black mourning dress route instead of the red wedding dress and that should be an easy enough vintage find and then I just need a long black wig to tease and modify. Here are some finds for either option
this red dress is perfect and affordable from dress up doll vintage on etsy.com
love this veil too
i love me a tutu
this vintage dress would be perfect too
this dress would be great!
or this one i think I would chop up the bottom with scissors
OMG I LOVES this one
and you could add a cool hair clip veil or hat
like this one
or this one
or this one
2. Roller derby girl or character from whip it!!!!
just go vintage shopping or go on www.etsy.com!!! You need a theme outfit some knee high or thigh high socks some cool tights or fishnets and some skates!!!
this skirt would be perfect
this costume would be perfect!!!!
and my number one costume idea..................
1. Joan Jett!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is super easy I just need an 80's mullet/rocker wig in black which are all over and my usual attire skinny jeans and a t-shirt with some cool makeup she is sooooo HOT!
(this is the kristen stewart as joan jett but it gives you a costume idea)
and hot damn if she doesn't look just as freaking HOT today as she did then!!!!!!!!!! um OMG drooooollllll she is kinda my dream woman...........man...............dear Joan Jett I love you, you rock and I'm single............call me???????????????????

.::oh hello::.
YAY it's friday!!!! whooo hoo!!! I'm working super, super hard and finished 3 paintings and a gift for a friend yesterday whooo hooo!!! I have so many more sketches to paint plus tons, tons, tons of new ideas just itching to get out!! If only I could clone myself and put the meeee's to work ;) Anyways!!!!!!!! Last Saturday I went to a preview of Whip It OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO FREAKING GOOD!!!!!!!!! I've read some negative reviews and those people are obviously morons...............it ROCKED! I am not kidding go see this movie ASAP!!!!!!!!! Let me say I am a HUGE fan of Women's Roller derby...I mean really big surprise!!!!!!!!! I wanna be on a team SOOOOO bad!!!! I even got some skates :D
sooooooo funny and inspirational and BAD ASS!!!!
and the cast is AMAZING!!! So one of the things that I love about this film besides the fact that it is about Women's Roller Derby (I mean come on!) is that it is a female focused, female dominated film/cast!!! The men are really sides to the characters development, the women take the main stage and they don't play your typical hollywood character roles! The most important male character is the dad. This film is about female empowerment and not being afraid to go after your dreams!!!! Also there are definitely lesbian undertones whoo! Lots of innuendo and I mean drew is rockin rainbow hair streaks and socks..........um she is engaged to a guy in the movie but perhaps its a shout out to the Homos...maybe her character is bi ;) We can hope!!!
****SPOILER ALERT*****I love that Bliss dumps her douche of a boyfriend and doesn't look back, no cliche oh ok you really didn't cheat and I was just being a crazy girl ending or he does some grand apology (blech) or my least favorite some gross get back at him plot isn't hatched nope just this isn't what I want byeeeeeeeee wow a real woman!!!
****SPOILER OVER****
The characters are gritty, imperfect and funny a slice of somewhat reality in the void of female representation in Hollywood. I felt this film actually nailed a bit of realness of my actual girlfriends/life even if most of the characters were "straight" ;)
AND DREW BARRYMORE DIRECTED!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHOOOO WOMEN :D
LOVED IT!!!! LOVE ME SOME DERBY!!!!!!!! I'm Breaking out the skates again this week.............I'll let you know how it goes ;) OH AND we got free t-shirts after the show!!! OMG sooo excited I already turned mine into a super cute muscle tee!
ALSO here is a Birthday Pet Portrait I did for my friend YAY :D Hope she loves it...this is squid who is also Panda's girlfriend..........yes I will be painting them both just you wait!!!
Next week I will be posting the other finished paintings I have been working on and hopefully some new ones in progress!!!
Have an AWESOME WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!!
